Viva! has teamed up with the Northern Vegan Festival and Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that as of this year, we will be partnering with the Northern Vegan Festival  and Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival to continue spreading the vegan message across Britain.

Viva! Vegan Festivals (formerly Incredible Vegan Roadshows) have been a huge success over the years.  We have toured 40 cities so far, reaching 85,000 people.  We changed about half the meat eaters visiting the shows and hopefully motivated those who are already vegan – and as a result, an astonishing 200 million animals will not be eaten because of Viva’s shows to date!

The Northern Vegan Festival and Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival, too, have been smashing successes.  Both the June 2015 Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival in Leeds and the October 2015 Northern Vegan Festival in Manchester attracted over 3,500 people each!

And now we’re joining forces.

Kicking off the 2016 festival season will be the Northern Vegan Festival in Manchester on 23 April 2016, followed by Birmingham Viva! Vegan Festival on 30 April 2016.

Both will offer – as usual – a huge range of free hot and cold vegan food tastings; various cookery demos; talks given by top speakers on a range of subjects, from Why You Don’t Need Dairy to Uprooting the UK’s Leading Causes of Death by special guest Dr Michael Greger; dozens of stalls (Northern Festival has over 200!) with everything vegan food, fashion and beauty; experts will be at hand to answer questions and give advice on going vegan and staying healthy; plus speed dating and a beer, wine & cider festival at Manchester and much, much more.

We’re excited!  We hope you are, too!

What Milk?

In the usual pre-Christmas race to bring out as many new and luxury products as possible, ASDA started selling camel milk. Apparently, suckling from camels is very festive. And if you’re not sure that’s such a good idea, camel milk comes with a host of health claims and is marketed as nothing

Porky Pies

Viva!Health have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about a new TV advert from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) group ‘Love Pork’ that suggests that pork is a healthy food.
