Viva! are Ms. Cupcake’s charity of the month

Giving back through cake.

We are delighted to announce that this April we are Ms. Cupcake’s charity of the month!

This year Ms.Cupcake is on a mission to give back to charities that aim to make the world a better place and have chosen Viva! as their April charity.

What is Ms. Cupcake doing?

Across April Ms. Cupcake will be promoting Viva! all over their social media, website and shop. They’re even creating an extra special Viva! branded Chocolate Vanilla Split cupcake at the Ms. Cupcake shop in Brixton – with £1.00 from each sale going direct to Viva!.

Follow the campaign on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or read more here.

If you don’t know who she is already, here is a brief summary of her deliciously successful vegan baking business…

Mellissa Morgan (aka Ms. Cupcake) started the UK’s first entirely vegan bakery back in 2010. She has appeared on Britain’s Best Bakery, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Sky News, Britain’s Best Dish, ITV News, Woman’s Hour and many more. She reveals her indulgent vegan recipes in her first book – Ms. Cupcake: The Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town. The book, published by Random House has been a huge success and has been translated into multiple languages.

While transitioning from a vegetarian to vegan diet many moons ago, she noticed there was a severe shortage in vegan cake products available compared to her native Canada. Ms. Cupcake was born out of a need for great vegan cake, and an underlying passion to bring indulgent cake that everyone can enjoy, regardless of diet, intolerance or religion. She created the Ms. Cupcake bakery and shop to be an open plan bakery so everything can be baked and decorated fresh onsite in front of the customers each day. The menu features cookies, squares, layer cakes, muffins, sandwiches and more – but they are still renowned for their decadent cupcakes.

As well as the bakery, Ms. Cupcake serves up its decadent cakes at every Whole Foods Market store and cafes and restaurants across London. And they deliver bakery products UK-wide. Looking to the future, a move to a large kitchen site is in the works in addition to a second cookbook. Mellissa also runs popular vegan and baking classes in London for those looking to master their vegan baking and decorating skills.
