Be a Viva! Veganista
The Viva! Veganista competition has now closed. We are excited to announce the overall winner is Pablo Cruise with his incredible vegan blue cheese.
Here, you can find out everything you want to know about becoming a Viva! Veganista, see former entries, weekly and monthly winners and discover lots of inspiration to help shape and make vegan meals.
From food on-the-go, or a three-course dinner party, we want to see the best vegan cooking from 18’s and over. You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to enter – all that is needed is for you to make a vegan meal, dish or snack and take either a picture or a film of it before simply posting it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #VivaVeganista.
Central to the success of the entry is a brief explanation of what the dish is and why you made it: perhaps it was a snack to have on the tube on your way in to work; a Sunday lunch for housemates and family; or a bowl of comforting nosh for days when you feel less than perky.
A judging panel will decide on a weekly winner and all will then go into a shortlist for an overall monthly prize – these final 12 winners will then be our finalists with an overall ‘Viva! Veganista’ being named later in 2017.

How does it work?
- Make a meal using only vegan ingredients.
- Take one or more pictures
- Post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #VivaVeganista
- Write a short description of what the meal is, when and why you ate it and the main ingredients

Meet Hannah – our Veganista-in-Chief!
Viva! Veganista is being fronted by University of the West of England student Hannah Price. Hannah, 21, has been a vegetarian for some time and wanted to find out more about vegan cooking.
Hannah will be cooking her own recipes and writing about her experiences.

Why have we launched Viva! Veganista?
At Viva! we have seen a massive increase in the number of people finding out more about going vegan. They often want to share ideas and thoughts as well as seek guidance on how to rustle up healthy meals with minimum fuss.
There has also been a notable shift in people of all ages wanting to end animal cruelty, also linking up good health and fitness and their connection to food and nutrition. As a result, lots more people are investigating vegan cooking than ever before.
To celebrate this, we wanted to create a simple way to get involved with people who might not be wholly vegan (or might be!) but are on their way to realising the health and ethical benefits this diet brings – and so Viva! Veganista was born!
We're hungry to work with like-minded businesses and individuals to help us champion cruelty-free eating and show the world how deliciously diverse a vegan diet can be!
