Business and Retail Manager
You will be responsible for steering all aspects of Viva!'s business and retail departments; ensuring Viva! business partnership schemes and merchandise continue to positively promote veganism and increase the support of our charity.
Salary range £23,000 to £29,000 pa depending on experience
Closing date is December 30th 2017. (Interviews will take place 8-12 January 2018.)
Retail/Merchandise Duties include
Source and develop products for the Viva! Vegan Shop (inc Wine Shop) online, mail order catalogue and events/festivals
Produce Viva!'s annual 'Gifts for Life' mail order catalogue; handle all aspects of production including photo shoot & distribution
Responsible for order fulfillment logistics including generating POs, customer service enquiries and stock control; managing the Business and Retail Assistant and Merchandise Fulfillment staff
Devise promotional and marketing strategies for Viva! merchandise both in print and digital (i.e. magazine, e-newsletters, stalls)
Produce regular sales and analytical reports, including annual stocktake
Business Duties include
Covering Advertising, Wholesale, My Vegan Town vegan directory, Supporter's Discount Club and Corporate Partnership
Proactively seek new business opportunities with vegan businesses and vegan-sympathetic businesses
Develop and maintain a database of prospective/existing advertisers; stay up to date with new vegan products and services
Contact potential clients through cold calls and e-mails; attend trade shows/meetings with prospective partners
Review new vegan products/services for Viva!life magazine, social media and websites
Secure advertising in a range of Viva! publications (Viva!life, guides etc); inc booking, invoicing and mailing
Develop and maintain existing business ventures; inc My Vegan Town and Supporters' Discount Club
Produce a joint business e-newsletter (V-Biz) for each issue of Viva!life promoting all business opportunities within Viva! (with the occasional postal mailing)
Produce regular sales and analytical reports for all business ventures
Managing the Merchandise & Business Coordinator and Festivals & Events Manager
Implement yearly events strategy including: overseeing the scheduling of internally and externally-organised events; devise budget plan (where appropriate); further the development and innovation of Viva! Brand at events
Produce quarterly/bi-annual analysis of events, based on reports submitted by event staff
Oversee competitions and other promotional opportunities to generate interest in and raise funds for Viva!
Excellent verbal, written and visual communications
Excellent negotiation skills
Creative from an idea and design perspective, and have an understanding of how to market a product or concept
Organised and process-orientated
Ability to deliver high quality work, quickly, in a dynamic organisation under time pressure
Self-motivated and self-managing but able to motivate and delegate tasks to others
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to travel (within the UK)
We're looking for creative and sales-oriented thinkers and organised people who have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience partaking in or overseeing projects from conception to completion, whilst meeting deadlines.
Relevant past roles could include: retail buyer/product developer, merchandiser, corporate partnerships/relationship/sales, advertising, business management.
