British actress best known for her role as Tracy Barlow in ITV's soap opera Coronation Street, between 2002 and 2007, and from 2010 onwards. She is a compassionate animal rights activist, and a strong supporter and active campaigner of the Anti Fur Trade in China.
Ford trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art before pursuing a career in acting. She took on the role of Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street in 2002, and was the fourth actress to play the character. For her performance of Tracy, she was awarded a British Soap Award for "Best Bitch" in 2005, and earned two more, for Best Actress and for "Best Storyline" in 2007. Ford left Coronation Street after her contract expired in April 2007, and took on a new role in June the same year, as Adele in Blue Murder, a detective drama.
