Manchester Veggie Roadshow Offers Taste Sensation!

Release date:
Monday, March 14, 2005

Self indulgence, pleasure and a tickling of the taste buds is being offered to the people of Manchester in an attempt to get them to change their diet and go veggie. It's about giving up the bad things in life, not the good! - another amazing fact from the Incredible Veggie Roadshow, which comes to Manchester this month. "On tap will be everything you ever wanted to know about going, being or staying veggie " or moving in that direction', say national animal campaign group and organisers Viva!.

There is a mind-blowing array of veggie foods available to suit every taste and occasion " and a fair few of them will be available to try free of charge. Everyone, from the righteously health conscious to the gloriously decadent, will be sure to find something to get their juices flowing. Beanies Health Foods and Redwood Whole Foods are amongst the companies offering delicious veggie burgers, bangers and rashers " but without the artery-busting fat and cholesterol. For the sweet-toothed, luxury Booja-Booja truffles will be there for the tasting - like a carnival on the tongue!

Cookery demonstrations will give the culinary illiterate a fun but informative shove down the road to healthier eating.

The Roadshow comes to Manchester on Saturday 26 March 2005, from 10am to 5pm,at the Cross Street Chapel, Cross Street, Manchester. Entry is free.

Patrick Drummy, from Beanies Health Foods, the sole importers of FRY's Special Vegetarian Foods, says "Viva! are keen to educate the public about the many alternatives to eating meat and dairy products and they enthusiastically spread the message about the long term health benefits of choosing a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. Beanie's Health Foods are proud to be associated with an organisation that has such an ethical ethos - so much so that we are sponsoring the Manchester Roadshow!'

"Food, glorious veggie food!" says Juliet Gellatley, Viva!'s director. "It's healthy, affordable and delicious " but don't just take my word for it, come along to the Manchester Roadshow and taste for yourself, free of charge!'

The Incredible Veggie Roadshow is organised by Viva!, and sponsored by Viva!, the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation and Beanies Health Foods.
