New! mini-eating out
guide to Paris
vegan-friendly restaurants in the most romantic city ...

Despite being a city famous for its meats and cheeses, there
is no reason vegans can't enjoy a romantic evening or two in
Paris this season, with a surprising variety of vegan-friendly
and well placed restaurants.
One of the best is Au Grain du Folie:
A short walk from the Sacre Coeur, this tiny and intimate
restaurant is romantic and cosy. It is a vegetarian restaurant
with plenty for vegans, and tasty homemade affordable (if small)
set menus. 24 Rue de la Vieuville,
Paris.
If you are nearer the centre of
Paris, try La Victoire Supreme du Coeur
in the 3rd arrondisment close to the Louvre, this
warm and slightly rustic restaurant is good for those with more
exotic tastes and larger wallets, and plenty for vegans. The
seitan is a speciality. 27 rue de
Bourg Tibourg.
Joy in Food is Situated in the 17th
arrondisment on the outskirts of Montmartre. This restaurant is
only open during lunch Monday to Friday, but is a popular place
to eat. There is a vegan option for everything on the menu,
which is varied and tasty. 2 Rue Truffaut.
If you want something more exotic, try
Krishna Bhavan, a totally vegetarian Indian restaurant,
it is authentic and cosy with a well priced menu. It is suitable
for vegans if meals are ordered without the sides of yoghurt
dips. It is very popular with fans of good spicy Indian food.
24 Rue Cail.
A good non vegan restaurant if you are with a meat
eater is Potager du Marais. Like many of the restaurants it is
small and intimate, and has a page of vegan meals and puddings.
What vegan dishes they do are well cooked, tasty and
authentically French. Booking is advised as it fills up quickly.
22 Rue Rambuteau.
Le Grenier du Notre Dame is a well
placed vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. The food is
unique and reminiscent of filling, robust home cooking, with
good seitan dishes for those who are fans of it. 18 Rue de la
Bucherie .
