Schools want you to give veggie talk!
Where: Resource for London, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA
When: Saturday, 12 September 2015, 10am-5pm
Become a school speaker and help kids save animals. Teenagers mostly detest animal cruelty and the rampaging of our planet. They want to make a positive difference to the world – they just need someone to open their eyes as to how. That someone could be you.
Viva! volunteers give school talks all over the UK. All volunteers are trained and say it is one of the most valuable and enjoyable actions they’ve ever taken to promote veganism and vegetarianism and being kind to animals.
Come along to our School Speaker’s Training Day and learn how to really help teenagers understand the need for veganism; how changing your diet saves animals and is amazingly health protective. Also a fab chance to learn how to give a cookery demo. It is much easier than most people think! (You can choose to speak at schools but not give cookery demos, but you will learn the basic skills on this day.)
This fun, informal day is run by Viva!’s founder & director, Juliet Gellatley and filled with a wealth of information that you can take away with you. We’ll walk you through a cookery demo – something that most schools request – as well as a mock talk so that you’re well equipped and rarin’ to go by the end of the session. We challenge you not to be inspired!
Terry Woods is an awesome Viva! school speaker and helps train others: "I have given many talks for Viva! to secondary schools. I do it because the kids have such positive energy - they really enjoy hearing about vegetarianism. They especially like to hear about the animals. They also love making veggie food! I always get them to help with the cooking - and so far, they have always devoured the fruits of their labour!"
Bea Mehta is also one of our fabulous school speakers: "I was nervous about speaking in schools but found Viva!s training day very helpful and inspiring. Now I talk in local schools and have been invited back several times. It is fun and such a hugely rewarding, positive action! The kids don't eat you - just the food you help them make!"
We’d love to see you! Everyone is welcome, so don’t be shy.
