The Incredible Veggie Show 2007
Saturday 30 June – Royal Horticultural Halls, Lawrence Hall & Conference Centre
Sponsored by: Beanie's Health Foods (UK) Ltd, Love London, Fresh & Wild, Lavera, Plamil Foods Ltd, The Redwood Wholefood Company Ltd and the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation
"A brilliant day – thanks to the Viva! team for organising such a stellar event!
It was our busiest show yet – we completely sold out!"
Beanie's Health Foods (UK) Ltd – Show sponsor
Our second Incredible Veggie Show was held at the Royal Horticultural Halls and despite horribly unseasonal weather and a major bomb scare which brought traffic to a standstill during set-up on the Friday and caused travel chaos on the day the Show was another triumph with 100 exhibitors and over 3,500 people pouring through the doors during the course of the day.
Once again, a huge variety of vegan products were showcased including food and drink, clothing and footwear, health and bodycare products, holidays and even veggie pet foods. A wide selection of groups and charities were also represented and in addition to dedicated merchandise and campaigns areas, Viva! also provided dairy-free information/tastings and ran three hot food and product tastings areas. The venue's caterers also ran a much-praised vegan café with a mouth drooling selection of delicious cakes.
"Over the past couple of years I have attended a few other food shows.
The Incredible Veggie Show is by far the best show."
Kemsoy (Unique Soya Foods) – Show stallholder
"You should be very proud for having organised such a wonderful show – we thoroughly
enjoyed meeting a fascinating range of people, and it was all made so easy for us."
Olive Oil & Truffles – Show stallholder
Our three talks areas and dedicated cookery demo area were extremely popular at the Show. Highlights included: Heather Mills (McCartney) who did a cookery demonstration and offered advice on healthy living; Dr Michael Greger, agricultural director of HSUS speaking about bird flu and preventing cancer; Rebecca Edwards, nutritional therapist, talking on why meat and dairy are linked to digestive diseases from bowel cancer to Crohn’s, and how vegan diets prevent and heal; and – back by popular demand – Rose Elliot MBE, the queen of vegetarian cookery who gave four demonstrations during the day; Professor Jane Plant CBE, who has beaten breast cancer five times, talking about her diet for health and Juliet Gellatley on ‘Why You Don’t Need Dairy’.
“One of the best days of my life – I don’t feel like the odd one out anymore!” "Fantastic. Best veggie fayre that I’ve been to." "Loved the day – amazed at how many stalls there were and the most beautiful food I’ve had." “Today has been a magnificent range of experiences – I look forward to next year’s show.” “Another great, well organised and highly informative show!”
Once again, the Show received wide publicity with nearly half a million flyers and 20,000 posters being distributed, features/listings on over 100 websites and radio and press coverage including The Evening Standard, Lifescape, New Internationalist, North West London Newspapers, Sainsbury's Magazine, The Ecologist and targeted placement of adverts promoting the Show including Organic Life and Time Out
