10.30am: Doors open (free entry)

TALKS:

10.45am-11.20am: Healthy Veggie Diets for Mums-to-be, Babies and Children    
– Amanda Woodvine, nutritionist, the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation
A fun and informative talk on how to bring up your kids the healthy veggie way (and have a healthy, blooming pregnancy)! There will be a question and answer section afterwards.

12 noon-12.45pm: Going Veggie – the way to Health, Happiness and Better Sex!
– Toni Vernelli, campaigns manager, Viva!
A talkabout how going veggie or vegan will improve your health, make you happier by saving animals and give a great big boost to your love life! Also practical tips on how to make the change.

1.40pm-2.15pm: Why you Don’t Need Dairy
– Dr Justine Butler, Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation health campaigner
A talk on how easy it is to eliminate dairy from your diet – and how, by turning vegan, you’ll be doing something incredibly positive for your health and the world.

2.30pm-3.15pm: Fishing for Facts
– Tony Wardle, Viva! associate director and editor of Viva!LIFE and VeggieHealth
Should you believe the hype that fish oils are needed for health? If not, what’s the truth? And what’s the latest on the state of the world’s oceans?

 

COOKERY DEMOS:

11.30am-11.50am: Cookery Demo 1: Pasta with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Asparagus and Macaroni no-Cheese

A demonstration on how to prepare this quick, delicious and nutritious meat-free Mediterranean treat!

1pm-1.30pm: Cookery Demo 2: Everything You Wanted to Know About Tofu but Were Afraid to Ask!
– Amanda Woodvine, nutritionist, theVegetarian and Vegan Foundation
Just what is the best way to cook tofu? Viva! will be showing you how by preparing a delicious gourmet delight of smoked tofu with sesame seeds and avocado; tofu chocolate mousse – as well as extolling the virtues of this versatile and healthy food.

3.30pm-4pm: Cookery Demo 3: Chilli ‘Non’ Carne
– Tony Wardle, Viva! associate director and editor of Viva!LIFE and VeggieHealth
A cookery demonstration showing that going veggie doesn’t mean giving up your favourite dishes, as an old favourite gets a healthy, meat-free makeover.
