TALKS:

11am-11.40am: Healthy Veggie Diets for Mums-to-be, Babies and Children
– Dr Justine Butler, Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation health campaigner
Afun and informative talk on how to bring up your kids the healthy veggie or vegan way! And how to have a healthy pregnancy. There will be a question and answer section afterwards.

12 noon-12.45pm: Going Veggie – the way to Health, Happiness and Better Sex!
– Toni Vernelli, campaigns manager, Viva!
A talkabout how going veggie or vegan will improve your health, make you happier by saving animals and give a great big boost to your love life! Also practical tips on how to make the change.

1pm-1.45pm: Why you Don’t Need Dairy
– Juliet Gellatley, founder & director of Viva! and the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation
A compelling and fascinating talk on the health impact of eating dairy – and how, by turning vegan, you’ll be doing something incredibly positive for you, your family and the world.

2pm-2.40pm: Stopping Cancer (and other diseases) through Diet
- Juliet Gellatley, founder & director of Viva! and the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation
A down to earth look at the latest research on how dairy, meat and fish impact on our health; and tips on preventing and overcoming Western diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes.

3pm-3.30pm: Secrets of Weight Control: Why Atkins Isn’t the Answer!
- Amanda Woodvine, nutritionist, the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation 
Vegetarians are not only naturally slimmer than meat eaters, but also enjoy remarkably good health – with reduced risk of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and an increased life expectancy! This talk is brimming with practical tips on switching to a diet which will not only keep your appetite under wraps, but which can also restore both your weight and health to peak condition.

11.45am-12.15pm: Cookery Demo 1 (Using Pasta)

Just what is the best way to cook tofu? Viva! will be showing you how by preparing a delicious gourmet delight of smoked tofu with sesame seeds and avocado; tofu chocolate mousse – as well as extolling the virtues of this versatile and healthy food.

Chilli ‘Non’ Carne
– Jane Easton, Viva!
A cookery demonstration showing that going veggie doesn’t mean giving up your favourite dishes, as an old favourite gets a healthy, meat-free makeover.
