Saturday 12 November - Wembley Conference Centre
Sponsors: Beanie’s Health Foods, Plamil Foods, The Redwood Wholefood Company and Fresh & Wild
“The show was the most successful public show we can remember. We are proud to be supporting such a great event that attracts both the converted looking for new products, and those that just could not believe that such good tasting products could be made without animal ingredients. Book us a stand for next year!”
Adrian Ling, Plamil Foods – Show sponsor
Our first-ever national vegetarian and vegan exhibition – The Incredible Veggie Show – was a great success, attended by 90 exhibitors and a total of 5,000 visitors during the course of the day.
Once inside, visitors were greeted with a fantastic variety of stalls covering all aspects of veggie living from fine wines and funky footwear to cruelty-free make-up and convenience foods, as well as a host of groups and charities covering a variety of campaign issues. Viva! also provided a wonderful array of food tastings for people to try from chilli to chocolate and Chinese to cheese, masses of free resources including recipe flyers which were eagerly snapped up, and a series of helpful talks on going and being veggie. Our sister health and nutrition charity the Vegetarian & Vegan Foundation also provided one-to-one nutritional consultations and free resources for those wanting to find out more about how to be happy and healthy on a veggie diet.
“One of the best shows we’ve attended.”
Robin Webb, Vegetarian Shoes – Show stallholder
Our main programme of talks and demos were fantastically well attended, with Rose Elliot MBE, the queen of vegetarian cookery and Viva! patron, giving free demonstrations to a packed out auditorium; Professor Jane Plant CBE, who has beaten cancer five times, outlining her diet for health; nutritionist Gareth Zeal tackling the basics of healthy living; and Viva!’s director Juliet Gellatley talking about why you don’t need dairy. TV presenter Wendy Turner Webster also ran a celebrity auction, with items donated by Paul McCartney, Joanna Lumley, Alicia Silverstone and Twiggy amongst others.
“Enjoyable and illuminating.”
“Probably the most interesting, tasteful exhibition in my life!”
“Great show. Lovely day for the family.”
