COMMENTS
While the Beacon is part of a local church, religion is not in any way pushed on to you. Many of the local people meet here and all dishes are home-made and fresh. Well worth a visit. Very informal with hussle and bustle.

All home made dishes. Lots to offer. I understand that some dishes are vegan however you will need to check. Wonderful puds as well.

It does get busy in here so if possible arrive early.

Down to earth, buffet style food on display on hot plates. Cheaper to have a set meal including main course, two salads and desert. Small portions but not inexpensive. Lunch starts at 12 am, best to get there early as this cafe is very popular with locals.

Small and friendly, over two floors. Riverside location with one wall of windows completely open in the summer. The best veggie restaurant I have ever been to. Large portion sizes. Yum!

Genuine, traditional country pub, about 300 years old. The pub is the heart of the little village of Blackheath, about four miles from Guildford. Very friendly service.

Tide Tables is in a cosy converted arch beneath historic Richmond Bridge. There is a large garden with stunning views over the Thames; it is one of the best spots in Richmond to come and sit.
