COMMENTS
Visitors are welcome from Easter to the end of October.

PLEASE NOTE: We are closed on Saturdays all year except bank holidays (gives the staff time to clean out the animals and gives the animals a day off). And is also closed on Fridays all year except in June, July and August.

The sanctuary used to be the Norfolk Shire Horse Center but was taken over by Hillside Animal Sanctuary in 2008.

It is a fun and educational day out for all the family. On normal days you can wander about and meet the many rescued and retired horses and farm animals. But there are also special days when the former owner of the Norfolk Shire Horse Center and local heavy horse expert; David Bakewell, gives talks and demonstrations on the history of heavy horses (dates to be announced - please check the website).

Many of the animals you will see at the sanctuary have been saved from factory farming and unhappy previous homes and their stories are told throughout the site. Some of the images may be upsetting for sensitive people but it does show the truth and will hopefully encourage people to be more aware of how animals are exploited by humans and to adopt a more ethical way of life.

Overall it is a lovely place where the food tastes great, the animals are well looked after and you can have a great day out in our beautiful, picturesque North Norfolk.

COMMENTS
A lovely, little, family-run, vegan take away where you can stay and eat in at the table provided if you want. The staff are very friendly, helpful and cheerful and it is always clean, tidy and smells wonderful.

There are numerous, delicious vegan options to choose from including the meal deals, buffet, and the all you can eat for only £4:00! There is also a TV tuned to Supreme Master TV - a channel of inspiration, hope and light hearted news.

You can also purchase foods such as the 'fish', sausages, 'chicken' pieces, cheese etc there and ingredients like peanuts, soy sause, cornflour etc.

There are also books, gifts and they provide literature to read and take away.

A very special place you just have to try!
