Voluntary vegan chef: South Africa

At the Vervet Monkey Foundation, South Africa, we are looking for a voluntary chef to cook vegan food for between 20-40 volunteers 5 days a week. Along with conservation, we promote veganism to support environmental issues and habitat loss etc.

We are able to provide vegan meals, basic cabin accommodation and also opportunities to be involved with vegan outreach locally and help with the monkeys at our sanctuary.

We are looking for someone for a min of 6 months or preferably on a long term basis for 2012. We are also looking for volunteers all year round. Our website is www.vervet.za.org please e-mail josie@vervet.za.org if you are interested.

Veggie Play Project

"Beef" (working title) is the new Veggie Play Project being written by Jonathan Brown (Best Male Performer nominee, Brighton Fringe 2007, and vegan). Jonathan is seeking support for this play (an intimate, humorous, moving insight into the meat industry) from local arts organisations and anyone whose work or personal aims include reducing animal exploitation. The project's webpage will include interviews with prominent people to whom vegetarianism is important, and links to their work. If YOU would like to contribute, get in touch, through the website.
