Hayley Mills

Hayley has been vegetarian since watching the Animals Film in 1982, Channel Fours’ inaugural movie. She began acting at the age of 12, won a Special Oscar at the age of 14 and is still acting. Her vegetarianism is intricately interwoven with her spirituality. “As a species, we just have to accept that we are heading off down a path to destruction and if enough people recognise this, we can change things. I think being vegetarian gives people a more gentle nature, makes them more compassionate with a greater respect for life.”
 
I have supported Viva! in England since it was launched. I have watched it notch up success after success for the animals as it has exposed one horror after another on intensive farms. I am delighted that it is bringing its professionalism and determination to the U.S. to help people go vegetarian and spread its message of care and compassion.
